Developments:
The latest of the papers I've written with colleagues from UCLA's David Geffen School of Medicine was recently published in the journal AIDS. 'Gender empowerment and health: What is it? How does it work?' discusses the importance of gender to health. HIV/AIDS in particular is an epidemic that is in large part driven by gender norms and imbalances. When I started researching the paper, I was surprised by how critical gender is, so it was quite an eye-opener.
